Sergei Morozov, 45, is a professional navigator who has been working in his occupational field for over 20 years. He has numerous trans-Atlantic crossing experiences one of which he achieved with his daughter, Aleksandra.
Sergei was born in Rostov-on-Don in the Russian Federation (former USSR) in 1964. His father was a police major, his mother a doctor. His older sister, Natalya Morozova, who still lives in Russia, is an archaeologist. From 14 Sergei began to engage in sailing, mainly long-distance voyages and competitions. In 1981 he was admitted to Rostov Marine School to the faculty of Navigation from which he graduated in 1984. Also in 1984 he moved to Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, where he was employed on the largest four-mast barque in the world, Kruzenshtern, as 4th Mate and upgraded to 2nd Mate by 1991. He married in 1989. In 1990 his daughter, Aleksandra, was born. He graduated from the faculty of Navigation at Kaliningrad Nautical Academy in 1991. For several years he worked as a yacht captain on vessels of various sizes and builds before creating his private business, Morozov’s Sailing Services. In 1999 he divorced and moved to the UK with his daughter where they lived for four years. There he worked as a captain for local yacht and motorboat deliveries.
Kruzenshtern
In 2003 Sergei and his daughter sailed from Southampton, UK, across Spain, Madeira, Canaries and Bermuda Islands to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where they live now. He operates S&S Worldwide Crew, his own crewing agency, and continues to work as a captain on sailing and motor vessels.
